From dismal.com re: personal income: dismal.com

Personal Income rose by a larger than expected 0.4% in January. However, the increase did not come from wages and salaries, which fell slightly during the month. The largest gain was made in transfer payments, which reflects insurance payouts and unemployment insurance benefits. Consumption growth, however, remained stalwart during the month and the saving rate rose moderately from very low rates during the fourth quarter. Equity markets will view this release with some concern as it reflects an economy that remained weak during the month of January.
