PNC Reduces 2001 Discontinued Operations Results by $35 Million

Pittsburgh, Feb. 19 (Bloomberg) -- PNC Financial Services
Group said results from discontinued operations for 2001 will be
reduced by about $35 million because of a bookkeeping error related to the sale of its residential mortgage banking business.
Net income will be reduced by the same amount, PNC said in a
statement. PNC also reaffirmed its previous 2002 earnings guidance
of $4.60 a share.
