Slacker,

<< Hmmm...I'm not sure I understand what is going on with the numbers >>

Me neither, but the capacity seems exceptionally lean relative to the current subscriber base. That is not exactly a surprise since we had several reports over the last few years that capacity was being saturated in existing Korean spectrum necessitating buldout in new spectrum. The 4Q '01 numbers really caught my eye, however when I saw them, particularly since there were several reports towards the end of 01 that SKT had no urgent imminent need to migrate to new spectrum.

<< maybe they are accounting for significant data usage by each sub? >>

Obviously as data usage goes up - which it is, both with IS-95B and 1xRTT - voice capacity goes down, even with the voice capacity enhancement of 1xRTT. Carve out some channels for DO and the situation potentially gets worse.

- Eric -

Kyocera 6035 is now priced at $150 at Sprint....

The price decline in high-end handsets is amazing. Next year at this time we could see $150 handsets with color screens, BREW and maybe even GPS.
