S&P Marketscope..02/28/02 10:05 am EST... STILL HOLD RIVERSTONE NETWORKS ( 4.0***).... Co. preannounces Feb-Q breakeven to slight loss, vs. Street mean of $0.04 EPS... Sees revenue of $50-$55 mln, below our $64 mln estimate, as carriers in U.S. and Europe delayed infrastructure spending... Asia still strong but not enough to offset.. co. plans workforce cut to save 10% in costs by May-Q... Cutting our FY 02 (Feb.) est. by $0.04 to $0.01, FY 03 by $0.11, to $0.15... News disappointing... But with strong metro product line and robust balance sheet, co. could be seen as attractive takeover candidate and worth holding. /M.Graham Hackett
