Bacchus ii Re...Don't work. It would implied that AMD think they would get a TBRED at 3400+.<<<<<<<<<

The statement would imply that if your interpretation of that statement was correct. I haven't heard of any announcement, implied or otherwise, that Hammer would come out lower than 3400 QS, or that Hammer would be near 2.8ghz. Where does Joseph get his 2.8 ghz.? I don't think anyone here believes that is correct. And by his wording of "impressive claims", I think he feels AMD is too optimistic for Hammer.

Some people are dropping out the Italics part, and saying that gives Johnatons true meaning. What if we were to drop out the part between comas "with some pretty impressive claims for the Hammer family" Then the sentence would read The company provided the latest processor roadmap, with a 2.8GHz (our estimate; their claim is a 3.4GHz) P4 equivalent part shipping by the yr. 2002. If Johnathon felt that Hammer wouldn't get out this yr.; then what would AMD's fastest part be at years end? On AMD's roadmap, a 2800+ TBRED is supposed to be released 4q-02. That is the part I think Johnathon is thinking of. I realize it isn't a Hammer, but I don't think Joseph necessarily said it was, when he put out his report. Just MHO.
