Michael - a good example of colored language with minimal content.
Of course you could change "Arabs" to "Communists" and "I had a good friend killed in the North Tower" to "I had a good friend killed in North Korea" and that gets us back to McCarthy.
And I can switch it around to Israelis and a little boy caught in the crossfire. Then I can thank Allah for Yassir Arafat and the PLO. Or Bin Laden and the Al Qaida and the million dead children in Iraq killed by the US aggression. Or the bourgeoisie and the proletariat.

But, no matter how you dress it up with the heros and villains of your choice, it is still the language of hate. And hate begets hate which begets more hate. Just look at Israel/ Pallistine, or Hutus and Tutsis, or Moslems and Hindis, or even Al Davis and Oakland Raiders fans.

PS - I apologize for letting the PMs lapse - you hit a critical point about national interest that made me think. And then I got sidetracked. If you wish we can start up our discourse next week?

Have a nice weekend!
