Re: "But Enron is not about how big business screws the worker."

Uh, yes it is. That's why C-SPAN filmed the screwed workers when they testified before Congress. Because it's a big story of a big corporation with big ties to the Republican Party and the Bush presidency screwing the common working man.

The Fat Cats made millions and millions and millions of dollars. Some of the rank and file saw their retirement accounts shrink by 99 percent.

The management-politics part of the scandal is yet to fully flower. When we know the particulars of who specifically was involved in these Enron spin-off corporations, then the story will once again lead the NBC Nightly News.

Bush and Lay were "intimate" with each other (but not in a sexual sense). The recently released correspondence between the two clearly indicates such.

If the Democrats are smart, they will continue to hammer away at the fact that Georgie and Kenny Boy were very good friends.

Bottom line: No matter how you try to spin this story, it remains a microcosm of Big Business corruption in America today ... and there will be other Enrons as well.

" I said it depends on how you define "pal". Personally, I really don't know how close they were. Doesn't appear that they were buddies though."

Then one of your errors is opining that they aren't pals.
In case you haven't heard, the NYTimes uncovered about 350 pages of correspondence between them.... Much more is secreted in Daddy's presidential library... The ENRON Memorial Highway (Route 401K) runs all the way across Texas and ends in Crawford.....

"they match 401 contributions 100% and compensated their employees very well."

100%...up to what total????? The full amount an employee can legally contribute? For all employees 100%?

Jumping in and late at that, but willfull blindness too hard to resist.

Enron not about big business screwing the rank and file? Then why did Enron take employee severance packages and give them to management instead in the form of "bonuses"(hush money)? Why did Enron insist on matching employee 401K contributions with stock options? Why did Enron refuse to stop the blackout on employee 401K sales while the stock was tanking(and hasn't even had the decency to even comment on that since)? The money that management made, the money the partner investors made, the bonuses that management paid themselves was all virtually stolen--from employees, customers, lenders and investors.

And why has GWB hidden his Texas governor papers in his daddy's library?
