Ibexx: The real difficulty is: the technicals do not tell whether this is the start of a significant, intermediate-term rally or merely a one-day bear market fakeout rally in the middle of a continuing downtrend. I have NO idea whether Monday will be strongly positive ( a continuation of today's rally) or negative (profit-taking).

Ibexx, I agree with all of Delph's comments

TA is never going to be good at predicting the exact time of reversals, particularly a news-driven intra-day reversal. Also, remember that TA speaks in terms of probabilities, not certainties.

If you want to see TA call future moves, try watching moving average crossovers. You won't catch absolute tops or bottoms but you'll catch fat middles, especially on continuations. Here's an example below: askresearch.com
