Actually I am going to start a brokerage to sell derivatives on the VIX. You can buy puts or calls, I dont care because I will always make money. I have friends in Washington that always spot me when I get in a bind (or in case my super computer model blows up). I also know how to squeeze the hell out of anyone that bets against the VIX.

Brooke, if you look at the VXN chart you can see a clear downtrend channel on the VXN with the current boundries between 40 and 48.

For the lower line, connect the early Nov. pivot low to the early Dec. pivot low. For the upper line, connect the end of Sept. pivot low to the end of October pivot low.

I think that gives us a better idea of where the VXN is headed. Right now, I believe this channel says it wants 40 real bad.
