First, I've seen all sorts of stories about correspondence "between" Lay and lots of people, which turned out to be largely "from" Lay "to" others and was either unanswered, or answered with rejections. Depending upon who Lay communicated with, the liberal media slants it.

Foremost in my recollection was correspondence and communications between Lay and Robert Rubin, former Treasury Secretary, which your liberal media in its bias reported as communications "from" Lay, "to" Rubin. Could this be the kind of thing Bernard Goldberg was writing about in his book, "Bias"? I haven't read it yet.

Second, I won't do a NYT on-line search, because you have to give them personal information that I refuse to do. The last thing I want to do is be on the NYT's database or contribute to its financial success.

My initial point was that given yours and others' criticisms of Bush's communications abilities, it doesn't seem likely that he was pen pals with anybody.
