<I know I didn't answer your question. But I did take it seriously even though I thought you posed it just to hammer me into a corner.>

Not at all John. I seriously can't come up with many options to deal with violent megalomaniacs and any ideas are good ideas.

Nor am I some wacko action-man. I'm all for doing nothing where possible. Too many people chant "Just do it!" for my liking. It's easy to act tough until as in WWI the trenches are full of bodies or as in Somalia, things go wrong and there's a sudden flurry of disaster, or aircraft crash in Iran on a rescue mission in the night.

But doing nothing is fraught with danger too - it leaves Japan open to destroy a fleet at Pearl Harbour, Atta, Osama and co to destroy the WTC, Hitler to take over Poland, France and a lot more besides and set up extermination camps.

Answering the question is a tough one. What the heck does one seriously do with the likes of Hitler, Hussein, Hirohito, Hannibal in expansionary mode? All the "H"s... Superior strength and defeat seems the only answer.
