I so agree about music. P uses music a lot. She does energizers (these are something Eric Jensen teaches to active brain function, very simple but very effective, mostly cross-laterals), and has various music for various times to reinforce for the students what part of the day they are in. (Incredibly, not all her kids even know whether it's before lunch or after lunch!)

the girls play piano, so I'm hoping they'll be able to incorporate piano into their classrooms. That was standard back when I was in elementary school; don't know why it disappeared.
