Amein,

You said, "it is truly unfortunate that there are incidents that misrepresent Islam and by Muslims nevertheless... however, one should be able to discern the difference between such behavior and the message of Islam..."

I am investigating. And I am coming up with this violent behavior is justified in Islamic scripture. I know, I know, you don't agree with me. However, lets not get into that right now.

I would like to ask another question, if you don't mind. If this violence, horrendous behavior is not true Islam, what is true Islam doing to clean it up? Why aren't the "so called" true Muslims out there cleaning up this mess? If Islam is love and peace, and that is the majority of Islamic people, this should be happening, right?

I think you must properly observe what is currently going on Islam right now, as evidenced by the majority or the current Islamic people, and their behavior, to know what the message of Islam is. With that being said, where are they now, and how are they out in mass cleaning up this mess? Why aren't all the true Muslims turning over bin Laden, instead of supporting him and harboring him?

Lets not go deeper than the current Muslim behavior to be the true judge of what the message of Islam is...

God Bless,
IGIT

all I said before (and am still saying) is that one has to recognize that the actions of some Muslims does not necessarily represent Islam... and that one should not generalize...

Actually, the face of Islam today is pure evil, and I will tell you why, if in fact Islam wishes to aspire to be a peaceful religion: its leaders proclaim violence, promote intolerance, persecution, hatred and murder of those of other faiths through Islamic schools. If Islam was a peaceful religion then why have its leaders yet to openly and vocally condemn the killing of innocent adherents of other faiths? Why have they not stated clearly that followers of Islam must respect those of different faiths and creeds? Why have these leaders not condemned former Iranian President Rafsanjani for threatening Israel with nuclear annihilation? Finally, why have not the leaders of Islam even once apologized to the American people - and the hundreds of other nationalities murdered on September 11 - for the heinous crime perpetrated in its name? The silence has been deafening.

Now, as for generalizing, I would strongly disagree with you on that score. Calling Nazism "evil" is an enormous generalization; nevertheless, it is a fact. By the same token, torture, murder and genocide are also evil. These are generalizations. They are also quite true.
