from limtex - Its now clear that a massive recovery is underway.

Massive recovery? Try inventory replenishment. Hardly anything to get excited over.

Where is your evidence of a massive recovery? Do you realize the NAPM report is a fricken survey? IT IS NOT ECONOMIC DATA. Surveys are a joke. What people say and do are two different things.

the recovery is in the government spending. you know the government is 40% of the economy. they sent those rebate checks. they bumped military procurement substantially after 9/11. they gave funds to NYC, Washington DC, the airlines, etc. the states and localities spent heavily on transportation and public construction projects last year. the government has tried to kickstart the economy with spending. it's now up to the private sector since states and localities will probably have to cut back some spending and perhaps raise taxes as well.
