dvdw, I wonder if you are taking your micro economic situation and grafting it onto our macro economic situation to make a bit of a hasty generalization.

We buy plastics also. We can get all we want, whenever we want, as soon as we want. It doesn't matter where, either. Resin prices are still cheap for the most part also.

When raw materials start going up steadily, you can start making a case for a recovering economy. Spot spikes don't count either.

Our purchasing prices for finished goods continue to drop because of overcapacity and lackluster demand, but that is also a micro-economic situation.
