I remember ~7 years ago; when I first started watching cnbc (not sure if this is when it came out); but they would mention a stock and it would go up 3 points by the next day. It would work like clockwork. I dont think SI was around then; I would scour the newsgroups and try to get stock info there (lol).

Anyways ...

Kind of funney how it turned out; I always wondered if people did things like this because people could make a killing if they knew in advance how a market was going to move.

Ie during the 9/11 incident There were people that bought a TON of puts on airline stocks etc ... and oil too (but I cant remember for sure) and then they were out as soon as it took a dive and closed their accounts; as far as I know; noone caught them either.
