Elmer, Since you have been doing this for years, why are you not richer than Gates? I can see how a larger wing would make you lose money, but it would have to fall more in price that what you got for the options. That has happened, I suppose that is the risk.
For commission to be a small factor you need a discount brokerage of some kind.

You're close. The options expire on the 3rd Saturday of the month they are written for, but because Friday is the last day they can trade we say they expire on the 3rd Friday.

If a month starts on a Saturday is the last day the options can trade the Friday before the third Saturday (the 2nd Friday) or the third Friday?
