<is MNP management competent?>

I would say they have a very good track record and are professional explorationists. And in my mind buying stock and warrants at a dime/12 cents is the mark of competent (but self serving?) individuals. You've some stakeholders here, including Jipangu and management. I guess the good news is that we can be in along side at a dime too, at least for now. It will be interesting to see if anybody but retail has picked up the ten million Carpenter shares?

MNP has been put on the backburner until recently, and there has been little attempt at investor relations. When I initially started dabbling in the stock two years ago (it's the biggest percentage loser in my twenty stock portfolio, in fact about the only big loser) they had an outstanding contact person who has left. I would say they are still weak on IR. I've never spoken directly with Chet I (has anybody?), but since I've seriously loaded up recently maybe I should.

The recent financing will bring 12 million new shares out
(8 + 4), which is almot a 25% dilution. It's terrible, from a shareholder's point of view. They should have laid dormant on minimum expense until gold moved up, the stock price went to $0.40, and then done the financing.

MNP management is competent but at doing what? Since MNP acquired Mt. Kare the property has swallowed C$39 million and has had 235 drill holes poked into it. This doesn't include the 32 that Carpenter drilled before graciously allowing MNP into the deal.

Still no resource but there's hope! Watts completed a resource study in Feb 2000 but the company has not released the results. Why? Recent activity of issuing 3.3 million D&E options and now this 8 million PP at a dime with half a warrant looks like they are about to return to the area they are most competent at-stock promotion!

I bought some as it is a no brainer. I just hope they don't drill any more holes. I want them to spend the money wisely on internal PR. I wonder what management's collection of Indonesian artifacts is like?
