Hi, Peter - I took your original comment, "...UWB will overcome them too" a little further, perhaps, than you intended.

It seems to me that many spectrum-related problems (regulatory and technical) could be solved if UWB were to escape the limitations presently imposed on it. While many would say that would impose a huge cost, I submit that it's probably cost-effective in the long run, and would permit universal wireless usage to come into play more readily.

Thus my question: "What is cheaper: to re-order GPS and MilSat frequencies, or to get billions of terrestrials to work around these sacred cows?"

I was arguing for even wider usage of UWB, at greater power.

Interesting that the ITU is a step ahead of the FCC on UWB - though in fairness, it was the FCC that first permitted trials at 700 MHz.
