2MARS, perhaps you can help with this biblical quandary. Having been created in His image, who or whom possessed the first belly button, Adam, Eve, God or none of the above? Personally , for me I'd like to think I got my bellybutton from Eve , for at least she was the "curious" one . <G> But alas , she was responsible for Man's "fall" by eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge . Which were usually oval and had an oral "groove" for feeding . Maybe if you look close enough there might be the tiniest hint of a belly button on a paramecium ... WE/animals are all decended from the microbe and one~celled animals ...plants from algaes etc. ;-) PS: One the very important developements since the time of the extinction of the Dinosaurs , was the evolution of a species of plant known as the "grasses" . It gave rise to all kinds of mamalian four~footed herding and grazing creatures , and their predators of which we are one . Races of man and civilizations can be somewhat classified by the grain (seed of the grass ) they based their living from . Rice , Wheat , and maize sometimes with addition of yeast for leavening . But this type of simple bladed grain seed~bearing plant evolved after the time of the great lizards , and made for much change . Much of the mathematics/measuement skills , language , record-keeping centered completely around the planting , growing , harvesting and storage of grain .
