Well thank you very much. Do you care to address any of the points in my post? Do you not find it just a bit icky that this person has devoted a significant amount of his research life to establishing that Sigmund Freud had a "Christian unconscious"?

And by the way, I did my doctoral study at NYU's clinical psychology department in the mid-eighties. We took two solid years of Freudian theory, read and dissected, under the tutelage of practicing psychoanalysts, everything written by the man. The Oepidus complex was not a societal issue, it was an inrapsychic issue. And what "Professor" Vitz so conveniently leaves out of his theory is that the desire to do away with the Father is out of a wish to be one with the Mother, also a symbolic "God" figure.

This kind of poorly-researched pseudo-scientic horsesh*t for the purposes of promoting Christianity makes me embarrassed to call myself a Christian.
