Isn't that the truth of the horrible legacy they leave behind.. And the ones that plant them do not seem to care about the poor farm family that tries to go out and pick up their war torn lives and THEN forever still have to live that horror ...

Muller mentioned that it would be an opportune time for GWB, to sign the treaty, being a war time president. We are one of last countries to do so.. And in that regard are in the same company of countries we consider evil, as I understood him.

I think he said there are 60 million of them out there or some obscene number.. But the pentagon would feel it would lead to a slippery slope of banning other "cluster" type of weapons..

I would like to say something nice about the US military - Its nice that they map the minefields they plant so when the war ends the mines can be removed. Its also nice that they have been removing mines planted by others in different places in the world, sometimes putting their own lives at risk to do so.
