<font color=green>Correction: 1 mitt WAS on that list--NOTE: didn't say hot mitt, R/LH left mitt, nor knitmitt.

Loved that URL. Thanks for my morning guffaw! Very Very Clever mirror site! But $0.50 for that mitt? OUCH!!!

re: alaska outfitting list, 1898

german socks (Did they think they would run into the germans and have to trade socks with them?)

magnets -- well they did anticipate black sand recovery. It loses the fine gold, but it does work after a fashion, depending on how skilled you are.)

F.K drawers --what did they plan to do with these? was this some kind of goddamn fr. fashion show?

Brown M suits. Gotta go to town on sunday and sell that gold.

Rubber coat -- kinky

creepers -- boy did they anticipate needing entertainment. What exactly are "creepers". no, let my imagination run away with me.

2 balls. -- I would say they should be brought along, no telling where you may need them. Leaving 'em behind is the hard part, no matter what your wife says.

quicksilver -- ok

gold pan -- 35 cents -- send 100 at that price

citric acid -- potato substitute

25 pound figs -- just in case you take a liking to them.

Parkie -- so I guess they brought those guys to do the work
or perhaps they need someone to feed the figs.
