Dan, I recall of two sessions last Spring and Summer when suddenly the spoo (eMini) had an extra 50k volume above average on normal dull days. But the market were helped.
I thankfully was not positionned when this happened.
I don't really care if the volume came from the Fed or from the BigMo.
Fact is, that it only takes $25mil performance bond (at the rates I am at my broker) for an hour or two (be flat after the pump), to achieve such turnaround moves.
Is $25mil credit for two hours BigMo?
OTOH, definitely is, IMHO, one of the tools I would use if my goal was to pilot the market for a soft landing.
