But my main argument is about heat density. Your point is most valid on an individual basis, but Hammer will be cramming all its powerful logic into a 104mm^2 die, and all 700+ pins will be routed in a package smaller than the socket A. Both routing and power will be concerns of the first generation builders, to be sure.
