mish, Max pain on the QQQs did not work in February but prior to that it had worked for several months (what I recall).

It seems to work when the market needs to come down to max pain but failed in February since it had to rise to that level. The same has to happen in March---a rise in the Nasdaq...will it fail for the second month in a row?

mish, do you recall what max-pain was for the QQQ expiry for July of 2001 and where the cubes actually finished up on expiry? If not, do you know of a link that it could be found?

thanks

Mish: Appreciate your work on max pain. Yet I will not change my short positions due to max pain. I am a bear in a bear market (IMO) and will stay with the trend. I can catch some of the wiggle ups as I have done in the last two bounces only to lay out my shorts at higher prices.

I am aware of max pain and know it can sometimes work, but it does work all the time as you know. Yet I am aware of it and have given myself a cushion should we get a max pain upward bias.

I am looking at IQuatro and see QQQs at 37 max pain. I know you have a different take and we all appreciate your input.
