I'd say there are more and more companies that leverage the same techniques that Enron had - perhaps Enron just did it to an excess and got caught with its "hand" in the cookie jars. This in no way condones what Enron has done but I will not be surprised if we learn that MANY more companies do it.

There are many things corporations do to "extend" their profitability and to cheat at every possible point - employee stock options are another place. (check ecommercetimes.com for some background).
