Yen Rises as Japan Stocks Surge, Boosting Demand for Currency

Tokyo, March 4 (Bloomberg) -- The yen rose for a fourth day in six as Japanese stocks rose, spurring demand for the currency to buy shares.

The yen strengthened to 133.05 from the 133.46 level set in late New York trading Friday.

Japan's Nikkei 225 stock average rose as much as 5 percent to 11,373, climbing above 11,000 for the first time in three months.
