You accuse IGIT of shallowness and produce only a selective quote to back up your position, who is really being shallow here?

So, how about answering his very valid questions --

(From IGIT )
"I would like to ask another question, if you don't mind. If this violence, horrendous behavior is not true Islam, what is true Islam doing to clean it up? Why aren't the "so called" true Muslims out there cleaning up this mess? If Islam is love and peace, and that is the majority of Islamic people, this should be happening, right?"

"I think you must properly observe what is currently going on Islam right now, as evidenced by the majority or the current Islamic people, and their behavior, to know what the message of Islam is. With that being said, where are they now, and how are they out in mass cleaning up this mess? Why aren't all the true Muslims turning over bin Laden, instead of supporting him and harboring him?"

I, too, would like to know the answers to these questions, not because I have any ulterior motives regarding Islam, but because I believe the only valid way we have to judge other people is by their public actions.

Amein,

You said, "go figure"

Oh you want figures...I am sorry I didn't include them in my first post!

Gallup conducted the interviews during December 2001 and January 2002.

It asked 9,924 Muslim residents in nine countries: Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

1. Although most of those identified by the US authorities as having been involved in the 11 September attacks were of Arab extraction, 61% of the respondents said they did not believe Arab groups were behind the attacks.

2. A further 67% thought the US campaign in Afghanistan following the attacks was unjustified, with 9% thinking it was.

3. The poll confirms a widespread unfavourable opinion of the US in the Muslim world - 53% - with less than half of that - 22% - holding a positive opinion.

4. Only 11% expressed a favourable opinion of the President Bush, with 58% saying they dislike him.

Source: news.bbc.co.uk

These figures make it clear how Muslims feel about the US, and America as a whole. Right? So do most Muslims feel that violence is wrong against the US, and sympathetic towards us, promoting love and peace? Or are most Muslims burying their heads in the sand, denying that Arabs/Muslims even partook in the terrorist attacks? Where is the love and peace in this behavior?

And again, I will ask the same questions I had asked before, because you failed to answer them. You felt more comfortable slinging an insult instead...go figure!

"I would like to ask another question, if you don't mind. If this violence, horrendous behavior is not true Islam, what is true Islam doing to clean it up? Why aren't the "so called" true Muslims out there cleaning up this mess? If Islam is love and peace, and that is the majority of Islamic people, this should be happening, right?

I think you must properly observe what is currently going on Islam right now, as evidenced by the majority or the current Islamic people, and their behavior, to know what the message of Islam is. With that being said, where are they now, and how are they out in mass cleaning up this mess? Why aren't all the true Muslims turning over bin Laden, instead of supporting him and harboring him?"

Also, my prior statement, ..."Lets not go deeper than the current Muslim behavior to be the true judge of what the message of Islam is...", you took way out of context. Obviously I have proven, without doubt, that the Muslim scripture promotes the terrorist violence of 9/11. You do not agree! So be it! So I am trying to prove to you, without rehashing the disagreement (as you have thanked me for many, many time already), by Arab/Muslim current behavior, my point. I feel I already have proved my point, many, many times by Islamic scripture.

So look at the poll and the current behavior and tell me what you think! Why aren't the so called true Muslims condemning the terrorism, turning over bin Laden, if the Muslim religion is all about love and peace? Why do so many of them hate us (as evidenced by the poll) and bury there heads in the sand about everything that happened? Where is the the love and the peace in these Arab/Muslim opinions?

Your cooperation in answering these questions is appreciated, so we can all truly understand the true message of Islam.

Thanks,
Steve

such shallowness can only be advocated by someone with ulterior motives... and I am the one accused of being afraid to face the truth...! go figure

You "consider it "shallow" to judge Islam by bits most (in)famous acts over the past 100 years? What Islamic acts of goodness, peace and love could you provide us that would counter-balance the atrocities of September 11 and the scores of others, too numerous to list in anything but an encyclopedia?

Please. Judging people by their actions is "shallow." Now I have heard it all. Using that logic, perhaps the United States should without warning initiate nuclear holocaust upon our "great friends and allies" the Islamic countries in the name of our Founding Fathers, then state that it would be "shallow" to judge America by its present activities, as the Bill of Rights is a beautiful document.

If you wish to defend Islam, please do it logically, and you will have a far wider and more receptive audience than when you do so as above. It simply is not a rational position to take.
