Does anyone know a site which ranks/reviews external hard drives? CompUSA is having a sale on a 40 Gb Acom Data one for $99 which seems very reasonable but I'm wondering if there is a reason, i.e. quality. Thanks for any help. BTW, the cow, I think your location info on SI identity page is great!

"A" Drive update -- my A drive (3 1/2 inch Floppy) would not copy or read files. and it made funny noises. took it out, cleaned it with compressed air spray, put it back in. It tried to work, but still no transfer. Got a used A drive from friend, who had similiar vintage Micron. put it in. Works fine. used same cable. Will try the A drive in washing machine soon and try it some time. do i have to use powder dishwasher soap? i usually use gel. ggg. larry
