My comments were made "tongue in cheek"...

Of course, the entire world is migrating to some flavor of CDMA, there are tradeoffs between 2G CDMA and 2G TDMA/GSM.

Of course, planning and equipment is much cheaper for TDMA/GSM when compared to CDMA. CDMA offers more capacity for the carrier plus "better" voice quality. I use the term "better" in quotes b/c my carrier is AT&T Wireless and my voice quality is fine.
