Mike - No, not a country music fan here, with the exception of Alabama, who set my toes a-tappin'. Ditto for Bluegrass. The air in Bakersfield sucks pretty much of the time, fog in the winter and smog in the summer. Thank goodness we're above it. And no, the fair doesn't have live racing. The OTB (located on the fairgrounds) is it. When they first opened business was very good, but has dwindled considerably over the years. The manager doesn't publicize it at all, and they get no support from the local newspaper. I'm hoping to get back on my feet by Derby time to pay the place a visit. I sorely miss playing the game. R
