Thanks for that piece. Okay, perhaps then I said it wrong. Let me try again. It was wrong for United States to agree with the Soviet Union to leave Afghanistan in the lurch when it pumped that country full with armaments for about 10 years. I mean, the U.S. was willing to aid in a fight, but not to help rebuild the country when the fight ended, instead it left the region in a very unstable situation. (and now we see the consequences) The U.S. now says , it does not plan to bomb the hell out of the place and then simply say goodbye when its job is done, as it did in 1989.
