Please keep between you and me. Indeed, I once questioned a poster's financial model and he thinly veiled a threat to 'skin me alive like a rabid Kodiak would a salmon' but then tried to claim that was some kind of local humor reference. You didn't specify if you meant is this the only AMAT thread on SI exclusively. I direct you to the Yahoo! amat thread. The posters there are honest and wise give them a chance, you won't be disappointed; very different from the other Yahoo! boards. I agree with much of what you posted. I used to visit this thread often but it has become, how shall I say, cluttered with minutia. How do stories about 'tech' and the 'general market' have any bearing on AMAT? Not to pour my guts out, but some of the people here, to be frank, are so pompous. A lot of PhDs and the like. I think you know what I mean. A few folks have been in this field for eons. Like I need to hear from them about the way it used to be and their take on the future? Most of them are hung up on charts. One guy is like a chart fanatic. Another guy here has an MBA from a midwest school but acts like it's from Harvard . And that short term trader... what a clutter and the gall to post real time. Do I really need to see 100k profit pushed in my face? I used to fry chicken for a living, for pete's sake! A rough estimate puts that trader guy on pace for over a 1/2 million dollars this year in trading profits from AMAT alone, but what are readers supposed to 'learn' from seeing the actual RT trades, I ask ya? Oh and a real show off. Mocked the longs all the way down. Nothing worse than 'I told you so.' Grrr. I could eat nails. Not to boost your ego, but you seem wise beyond even your advanced years proffered on your profile. I, like so many poor monks before me, realize how little I really do know. And boy am I starving for good info. on SI. Good luck in your search. As the Buddhists are fond of saying: All is sorrow. RO
