Compaq Delivers Two Powerful New Wireless Ready Notebooks Presario 2800 and
Evo N800 Feature MultiPort Wireless Solutions and New Pentium 4 Processors to

Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today announced the Presario 2800 and Evo N800
notebooks, two new powerful wireless-ready notebook computers that deliver
desktop equivalent performance in sleek, stylish designs.

Both the Presario 2800 and Evo N800 take advantage of the powerful new Mobile
Intel 1.7 GHz Pentium 4-M processor to conquer the most demanding processor
intensive applications without sacrificing the mobility that customers demand.

Originally introduced with the Evo line of notebooks and already recognized as
the most innovative wireless solution on the market(1), the MultiPort wireless
solution will now be available on a variety of future Compaq Presario and Evo
Notebooks. MultiPort provides users the convenience to access the Internet or
their enterprise network without cables. Currently available in either an
802.11b or Bluetooth module, MultiPort provides customers with greater
performance than traditional wireless PC cards and increased flexibility for
upgrading and expanding. Customers are no longer limited by the location of
their PC. They now have the power and freedom to stay connected anytime,
anywhere.

Presario 2800

Honored as "Editor's Choice" at the 2002 Consumer Electronics Show(2), the
Presario 2800 delivers integrated 802.11b wireless, the latest technology and
great multimedia performance. Sporting a sleek, stylish silver casing and
weighing less than 6 pounds, the Presario 2800 includes a 1.7 GHz Mobile Intel
Pentium 4-M processor, 30 GB hard drive, 15" SXGA+ panel, ATI Mobility Radeon
7500 graphics with 64 MB of DDR (Double Data Rate) memory, DVD/CD-RW combo
drive, additional MultiBay battery, 802.11b MultiPort and USB 2.0 support.

Evo N800

performance, the new Evo N800 packs the power of the new Pentium 4 processors in
a slim 1.3" thin design. The Evo N800 includes the most advanced portable
product features in the marketplace. Its modular design includes MultiPort and
MultiBay which provide outstanding flexibility and investment protection,
allowing for easy integration of wireless, removable media, and other
performance enhancements. A three-year warranty is also standard on select Evo
N800 models.

The Evo N800 will feature the latest Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M processors, up to
a 60 GB hard drive, choice of up to 15" panels including UXGA+ resolution, ATI
Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics with up to 64 MB of DDR memory, various optical
drives including a DVD/CD-RW combo drive and USB 2.0 support. The Evo N800 is
expected to be available in the second quarter of 2002.
