wbmw, The IDF will still be well attended in the fall, because it is probably de rigeur for most developers to attaned. In time there may be 2 streams in development, the still strong x86 and the fading ia86. x86 people may not attend that dwindling crowd as Intel does an Apple.
I suspect though that the tacked on fron end for the ia86 that does x86 will ameliorate this to some degree.
