Outstanding analysis.

At the other end of the spectrum, I was watching Pat Robertson (700 Club) discuss the issue with the JPost editor. He kept throwing out the standard AIPAC slogans, like these are "suicide borders" and "indefensible borders". They even showed a quick map video, showing the "strategic depth" (i.e. width) of the country is only 9 miles.

Of course, in the tradition of rampant racism by these people, there was no discussion of the fact that the Palestinians have even less "strategic depth". And, the silliness of calling the pre-1967 borders "indefensible" was not pointed out. If they are "indefensible", then how was it that Israel was able to expand them so dramatically in every direction in 1967 (and in every previous conflict)?

Zeev Schiff, Israel's most knowledgeable military correspondent:

"Ariel Sharon might be a proper commander for the Tartars", who overran Asia and Eastern Europe under Genghis Khan, "but not for Israel."
