Re GAU - a couple of items of interest.

1. In the last month almost 1.3 m shares traded. HALF of those shares were sold by Peters and by Raymond James. Nobody else even comes close. They have both been sellers since January.

2. Last one in today was a buyer from Schwabb who plunked down over a 100k in one go (10 trades in the last 5 minutes ) . One of the first off the mark was a buyer for over 90k - again with Schwabb. In the last 2 trading days, Schwabb has purchased over 335,000 worth of stock.

3. From an October 5 2001 press release:

ARC Canadian Energy Venture Fund 2, as a result of open market purchases, has
acquired 22,100 common shares in the capital of Gauntlet Energy, representing
less than 1 per cent of the current outstanding Gauntlet common shares. ARC
Canadian Energy Venture Fund 2, together with ARC Canadian Energy Venture
Fund, therefore now exercises control or direction over a total of 5,140,404
common shares of Gauntlet (or securities exercisable into such common shares),
representing approximately 35.4 per cent of the outstanding Gauntlet common
shares (assuming the exercise of warrants).

Now either some broker at Schwabb is amazing at talking clients into buying big chunks of stock at the peak of a run, or my GUESS is he saw somebody ( or group of somebodies ) going into someone else's office building, or some other interesting occurence. For the boys at P and RJ - maybe they know even more.

As for the ARC folks, I would assume that with Mac van W, and Allan Twa on the boards of both ARC and GAU that MAYBE something is up. ARC hasn't bought anything of significance since the Startech acquistion, so maybe its time. For those holding AET.UN - they would likely have to go to the market to get funding for a purchase like this.

Have held GAU since last spring on the recommendation of Linder at Research capital. Back then it was on his list of takeout targets. Time will tell.
