"I hope someday to make that same leap too but have found it to sustain a selfish human need: the wanting desire that we all have purpose in life or that we may not be alone in the Universe. This is just my humble opinion." I don't consider the need for purpose to be selfish. I consider it as essential as the need to grow, be free, be responsible, and whole. Without a higher purpose, materialism is the best I can come up with. This is still a purpose but a very base and unworthy one. Life is too hard, materialism isn't worth it.
