Well, best of luck. I've been advising my brother to take profits on his bond investments for many of the same reasons. My gut is that gold and bonds have had their day and 2002 will prove to be a transition year. What I mean by that is everyone will have plenty of opportunity to reposition for the next economic upcycle as the market goes through short term mania like in the last few days and then comes back down as people take profits. So I still believe gold stocks won't be as big this year as they were last year (in fact, I bet they book a decrease), but there will be plenty of time to take profits and reposition to equities. Good luck!
