Lots of people entertain fantasies about ditching their high-pressure jobs and getting back to nature.

Christian Zamarra actually did it.

After enduring two layoffs in four years, the Washington area native decided to forgo the hyper technology lifestyle, permanently turned off his cell phone and signed up as a coordinator for a camp devoted to strengthening troubled families.

Now he spends most days on a peninsula, surrounded by 110 acres of greenery, a South Carolina lake, rambunctious children and, most of all, quiet.
