Excellent article by Edward Said. Note that one of the signees, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, bragged in his memoirs about blocking the UN from acting in East Timor, allowing the U.S.-armed and -funded Suharto regime to commit the worst genocide post-WWII in the world.

"I don't know a single Arab or Muslim American who does not now feel that he or she belongs to the enemy camp"

Can America trust Arab or Muslim Americans?

===> " ... and Israel prolongs its sadistic collective punishment of the Palestinian people, all with what seems like great public approval in the United States."

I guess this is the answer. Muslim and Arab Americans are on the side of the Muslim and Palestinian terrorists. They bring their hatreds and their racism to America, and they freely admit it.

The American public sees thru the Palestinian, Arab and Muslim propaganda of hatred towards non-Arabs. The American public is not in love with Israel. They just realize the real victim of terrorism, and it is not the Palestinians, who refused a great peace offer, and chose, instead, to continue a course of murder against innocent Israeli citizens.
