Women are always hoping to mate as far up the scale as they can. "Up" means maximizing reproduction of the genes, obviously. That means intelligence, strength, freedom from disease, including mental and emotional illness, ability to adapt, sufficient ambition to provide for future gene carriers, stuff like that. It's all about carrying the genes forward in time. Having children that are fun to be around is a definite goal. One doesn't want snarling, hostile children, so preferably one avoids snarling, hostile men. I have noticed that never mated males tend to be the snarling, hostile type. Funny, isn't it?;^) Some foolish women are fooled by designer shoes, gold chains, and toupees into making ridiculous choices. Perhaps a snarling, hostile never mated male can fool a foolish woman with the right camouflage?
