Hi Jay:

For people whose parents and grandparents suffered so badly under the Nazis, the Israelis sure do seem to lack empathy and compassion. In fact, they seem to do a pretty good number in stormtrooping themselves. Shows that people are neither innately good nor evil (ridiculous concepts) - they just react to their environments like the high-end lab. rats they are.

>>Maybe it is not that problematic, but 18 months of killings is a sure lot of time to cement/solidify polar sides. I just hope it is the final, tail-end of this conflict<<

I did some soldiering back in the late '70s as a British Army paratrooper in Britain's own endless conflict - Northern Ireland - and I can tell you from personal experience that 18 months of killings is nothing - a drop in the bucket. These endless ethnic conflicts become self-reinforcing, culturally self-perpetuating. The Palestinians are now using young women as suicide bombers. The Israelis should bow their heads in shame that they have caused such hatred and desperation.

Here's what a suicide bombing looks like - warning - this is very unpleasant.
