Hi Poet...a lovely poem indeed, although a little confusing when she uses comets and meteors together.

I believe that meteors are often associated with interstellar rocks and dust, and as they enter our atmosphere, they burn, leaving the trails of light. Comets are, most often, associated with a dirty mass of frozen ice, generally circling our Sun. Their tails are a reflection of the debris trailing the mass. Comets don't enter our atmosphere.
