MUNICH, Germany, Mar 5, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Infineon Technologies AG (FSE/NYSE:IFX) today announced that it has filed a "shelf" registration statement on Form F-3 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

By registering securities through the shelf registration process, the Company will be able to issue ordinary shares or debt securities, in one or more offerings from time to time, up to an aggregate offering price of $1.5 billion. Infineon has no immediate plans to begin such an offering.
