Does anyone know how fast the P4-M runs when on batteries? How about benchmarks for battery only mode?

Dale, Re: "Especially since, according to ZDNet, the mobile P4 consumes only about the same power as the fastest Pentium III-M available. Not only would faster mobile Pentium III-M processors consume more power themselves, but the SDR SDRAM would also consume more power."

Very interesting. That says a lot for the Pentium 4-M engineers to have reduced power consumption so well. It's just too bad that Pentium 4 wasn't suited for mobile in the first place, because those same engineers could have essentially done far more with another design.

I am hoping that Banias is worth waiting for, though. Intel seemed very excited about the future prospects of the mobile PC market during IDF, and Banias will be the processor they are positioning these features towards. They even hinted that it could replace the Pentium 4 as the dominant mobile architecture.
