Art. Voicestream is a German Company purchased for way, way too much by Deutch Telecom. I have little sympathy for their problem. They want to spearhead inferior European technology into the US.

Art: Congress can still legislate a way out of the mess, but here again, interest groups are weighing heavily on both Congress and the FCC to do something, ANYTHING to help poor struggling companies like AT&T Wireless and VoiceStream.

Actually, I expect Nextwave to help them out! Since this will be tied up for more than a year of so. There is no reason why Nextwave will be prohibited from simply leasing ATT and Voicestream their spectrum until a final decision is reached. The CapEx expense of simply increasing the number of carriers being used in a given market will not be that expensive. They will simpy use existing cell sites and antennas.

This is similar to what (once Bankrupt) MetroPCS is doing for ATT in their Miami, San Francisco, and Atlanta markets. How Ironic! The pro-CDMA Nextwave will end up providing spectrum to the groups who need it the most.. The GSM operators!
