I don't claim any special insight, but my take on it is that chaos will reign at HWP and CPQ either way. I think it would be slightly better for Sun if the merger went through, because I think that would result in more product line cancellations, and whenever a customer is faced with having to make an unanticipated change, Sun has a shot. A failed merger might also call into question the survival of the suitors, which could help make Sun look better to potential customers.
