I think that we had agreed that people seek righteousness for righteousness sake simply because it is there. I added the question, Why? I don't have any better answer than "because it's there" in the sense that was intended by George Mallory. There is something inherent to humans that makes us want to "be all we can be." To strive, to surpass, to discover, to make the most of our time on Earth. As I said before, I don't have a better answer than that. The soul thing is a red herring, not worth further attention, IMO. I assumed erroneously that Mallory's statement would resonate with you. Karen
